Challenge

A mid-size financial institution was experiencing high alert volumes from their existing rule-based SIEM configuration — roughly 800 alerts per day — but had limited analyst capacity to triage them. Critical alerts were being missed in the noise.

Approach

Cerebo deployed an anomaly detection model trained on eight weeks of the institution's historical log data, focused on user behaviour and authentication patterns. Alert thresholds were reconfigured to reduce rule-based noise and route high-confidence anomalies to a prioritised queue.

Outcome

Alert volume reduced to approximately 40–60 high-priority items per day, with a measurably higher rate of actual security events among investigated alerts. The analyst team's investigation time per alert dropped by roughly 35% due to better contextual information in alert metadata.

Challenge

Approach

Cerebo conducted a current-state SOC assessment and a structured evaluation of five shortlisted AI security tools against the organisation's specific environment and analyst team profile. Two tools were identified as genuinely suitable; two were assessed as unsuitable for their scale; one was deferred pending infrastructure changes.

Outcome
